Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out new drone and missile strikes targeting US military infrastructure in Kuwait and Bahrain, while Iranian officials said thousands of residents in southern Iran have been left without drinking water following recent US attacks.
In a statement carried by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the IRGC said its naval forces struck the US fleet’s fuel support pier at Al-Ahmadi port in Kuwait and targeted the gathering area for US warplanes at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
The IRGC also claimed to have destroyed a US intelligence data centre in Bahrain, identified as Batelco, as well as a US signals and telecommunications centre in Kuwait. The claims could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate response from US or Gulf authorities.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials said the humanitarian impact of recent US strikes in Hormozgan province has worsened after attacks damaged key water infrastructure in Jask County.
Hamzeh Pour, chief executive of the Hormozgan Water and Wastewater Company, said a US strike on desalination facilities in the coastal village of Bunji had completely disrupted drinking water supplies to 20 villages, affecting about 10,000 people.
According to Tasnim, the attack destroyed a seawater pumping station and a power transformer at the Bunji desalination plant.
“These villages are facing a severe water shortage,” Pour said, describing the strikes as “a series of crimes and terrorist attacks.”
The latest claims come as fighting between the United States and Iran continues to intensify, with both sides reporting new military operations across the Gulf region and inside Iran.
