The Maldives has officially launched PayPal services through a new integration with Ooredoo m-Faisaa, giving users access to global digital payments for the first time through a local platform.
To get started, users must download the m-Faisaa app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and register by entering basic details such as phone number, email, and address. Once registered, users can link their PayPal account directly through the app by selecting the “Link to PayPal” option on the m-Faisaa dashboard.
The linking process requires verification through a one-time password (OTP), after which users must accept the terms and conditions to complete the connection. It is important that the email and phone number used on both PayPal and m-Faisaa match for successful linking.
Once connected, users can send and receive international payments and manage funds through the m-Faisaa platform. Money can be withdrawn from PayPal into m-Faisaa by selecting the withdraw option and confirming the transfer. Similarly, users can top up their PayPal account directly from m-Faisaa when needed.
The integration positions m-Faisaa as a bridge between Maldivian users and the global digital economy, making cross-border transactions and freelance payments more accessible than before.
