Recent US attacks on Iran’s southern Hormozgan province have killed at least seven civilians over the past two nights, according to an Iranian official, while Kuwait said several firefighters were injured responding to fires caused by Iranian attacks.
Ahmad Moradi, a representative for Hormozgan province, told Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency that between seven and eight people had been killed in the recent US strikes, all of them civilians.
According to the report, one US strike hit a bridge in the province, striking two family vehicles and killing six people.
Tasnim also reported that a strike on the Tappeh Allaho Akbar neighbourhood in Bandar Abbas killed a woman and left a one-year-old child with an amputated limb. A driver transporting fuel to petrol stations was also killed in a fire caused by the attacks.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Fire Force said several firefighters and a worker were injured while battling fires that broke out following the latest Iranian attacks on the country.
In a statement, the authority said the injuries occurred during firefighting operations at one of the affected sites, adding that those injured were evacuated and transferred for medical treatment.
“The first incident resulted, during the firefighting operation, in a number of injuries among the firefighters and one of the workers,” the statement said.
Earlier, Kuwaiti authorities announced that two power generation and water desalination plants had been hit during the latest wave of Iranian attacks, prompting emergency response operations.
