Bahrain’s Defence Force said it intercepted and destroyed several Iranian aerial attacks, as the Gulf kingdom remains on high alert amid the escalating conflict between Iran and the United States.
In a statement, the General Command said the country’s air defence systems successfully responded to the incoming threats, adding that all military units remain on full operational readiness.
“The General Command affirms that all its weapons systems and units are at the highest level of readiness and remain fully prepared to defend the Kingdom,” the statement said.
The military also condemned the use of missiles and drones against civilian areas, saying such attacks violate international law.
It stressed that “the deliberate use of missiles and drones to target civilians and private property constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law”.
Bahrain has repeatedly activated warning sirens in recent hours as Iranian missile and drone attacks have targeted locations across the Gulf region. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and follow official safety instructions while the security situation continues to be monitored.
