The humanitarian toll of the latest United States military strikes on Iran continues to rise, with Iranian officials reporting more than 260 people injured and dozens killed in attacks carried out across several parts of the country.
According to Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour, more than 260 people were wounded in the latest wave of US attacks. He said 222 of the injured have already received treatment and been discharged from hospital, while three of those wounded were under the age of 18.
The latest casualties came as US forces launched strikes on dozens of targets across Iran and reimposed a naval blockade on the country’s ports, marking the fifth consecutive day of escalating military operations.
In southern Iran, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said more than 30 civilians have been killed in recent US attacks. In a statement shared on X, she expressed condolences to the victims’ families and pledged continued government support.
“While expressing our condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families, we honour the memory of the fallen,” she wrote, adding that “the government will stand by the people with all its might.”
Meanwhile, in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province, the Iranian military said a US missile strike targeted the Bampour Garrison near Iranshahr.
According to the military, 13 US missiles struck facilities belonging to the 388th Brigade, including accommodation buildings, guard posts and a guesthouse. The attack reportedly killed seven Iranian soldiers and injured several others.
The army described the strike as an act of “cowardly aggression” and vowed to respond.
“A decisive response will be given to this crime at the appropriate time,” the military said in a statement carried by the Tasnim News Agency.
The military also claimed that passive defence measures helped reduce the number of casualties despite what it described as an attack intended to inflict maximum losses.
Elsewhere, authorities in Bushehr Province reported that US projectiles struck multiple locations in the western port city of Bushehr on Tuesday.
Bushehr Governor Mohammad Mozafari said the strikes hit four locations, but no casualties were reported. He added that emergency and rescue teams remain on alert while the situation in the city is calm.
The latest figures highlight the growing human cost of the escalating confrontation, with civilian and military casualties mounting as military operations continue across different regions of Iran.
