Major Iranian Drone Attacks Target US Military Bases in the Gulf

Iran has launched a series of large-scale drone attacks against US military installations in Jordan and Kuwait, marking a significant escalation in tensions between Tehran and Washington. Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that four of the country’s soldiers were injured during the strikes.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, the operation targeted key American military assets at Jordan’s Azraq Air Base. The reported targets included F/A-18 fighter aircraft, military housing facilities, and warehouses used to store heavy military equipment. Tehran described the attacks as retaliation for recent US strikes on Iranian territory, claiming Washington had violated a ceasefire agreement.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense spokesperson, Saud Abdulaziz Al-Athoubi, said Iran used 33 drones, one ballistic missile, and five cruise missiles during the attacks. He urged the public not to approach impact sites or take photographs, while authorities also advised residents against sharing images or videos of the attacks on social media.

The latest exchange comes as military confrontation between the United States and Iran continues to intensify. On July 14, the US carried out additional strikes targeting Iranian ports and expanded operations it says are intended to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite a ceasefire agreement reportedly brokered with Pakistan’s mediation, both sides have continued exchanging military strikes, raising concerns that the conflict is moving toward a more dangerous and unpredictable phase.
