A missile launched from the direction of Yemen triggered air raid sirens across central Israel, as regional tensions continued to escalate following the exchange of attacks between Iran and Israel.
According to the Israeli military, the missile was detected heading toward Israeli territory, prompting air defense systems to respond. Sirens sounded in several areas, including the Gush Dan region and Jerusalem, while Israeli authorities temporarily closed the country’s airspace as a precaution.
Israeli media outlets later reported that the missile had been successfully intercepted. Shortly afterward, the military announced that the incident had ended and instructed residents that it was safe to leave protected shelters.
Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service said no injuries were reported as a result of the attack. Media reports indicated that one person received treatment after falling while running to seek shelter. The launch comes amid a broader regional escalation, with Israel and Iran exchanging strikes over the past several hours, raising concerns that additional groups aligned with Iran could become involved in the conflict.
