Iran has launched a new wave of missiles towards Israel, marking the latest escalation in the rapidly expanding confrontation between the two countries.
The Israeli military said it detected missiles heading toward Israeli territory and activated air defence systems to intercept them. Authorities urged residents to follow official safety instructions as sirens sounded in multiple areas.
According to Israeli media, interceptions were carried out over central Israel, while explosions were heard in the Jerusalem area. Sirens were also reported in southern Israel. Images published by Channel 12 showed burning debris near the Jericho area, reportedly from intercepted missiles.
Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service said there were no immediate reports of casualties from the latest attack. The missile barrage comes after Israel launched strikes on targets in Iran earlier today, raising fears that the ongoing exchange of attacks could trigger an even wider regional conflict.
