Maldivian film star Ismail Junaih has been confirmed as one of the four men arrested during a special anti-narcotics operation conducted by police in Vilimalé.
The operation is part of the Maldives Police Service’s ongoing efforts to combat narcotics, with police confirming that four Maldivian men have been arrested so far. Three of those arrested are from the local film industry.
Junaih joins fellow film stars Ahmed Azmeel (Azey) and Mohammed Vishaal (Roman) among those arrested in the operation.
Police are continuing their investigation, including searches of locations linked to the suspects and examination of items found in their possession. Further details, including the quantity and type of narcotics involved, have yet to be confirmed.
