Maldivian film actor Ahmed Azmeel, known as Azey, has been confirmed as one of the four men arrested with suspected drugs during a special anti-narcotics operation in Vilimalé.
The Maldives Police Service said the operation was conducted in Vilimalé as part of its ongoing efforts to combat narcotics across the country. Police previously confirmed that four Maldivian men were arrested in the operation, three of whom are involved in the local film industry.
Information obtained in connection with the case has now confirmed Azmeel’s inclusion among those arrested.
Police are continuing to inspect locations under the suspects’ control and examine items found in their possession. Further details regarding the operation are expected to be released once the ongoing investigative work is completed, police said.
