Powerful explosions reported near Iran’s nuclear facilities

Powerful explosions have been reported in areas of Iran that are home to key nuclear facilities, as fighting between the United States and Iran continues to escalate.

The renewed conflict, which resumed on the 8th of this month, has seen both sides exchange attacks. On Tuesday, the United States carried out fresh strikes targeting several locations across Iran.

According to Iranian media, a series of powerful explosions were heard in the southwestern city of Bushehr, where one of Iran’s major nuclear facilities is located. Some reports indicate that the strikes may have targeted sites linked to the country’s nuclear program, although this has not been independently confirmed.

Iranian state television also reported that five powerful explosions were heard in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.

The latest U.S. strikes come after Washington accused Iran of carrying out attacks against vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. In response to the renewed American operations, Iran has also launched attacks targeting U.S. military bases across the Middle East.
