Two men have been arrested in Fuvahmulah City on suspicion of selling and trafficking drugs across a wide area of the city.
The suspects, identified as Ahmed Afaf Arif, 32, of Aasimeemanzil, and Ahmed Vishan, 37, of Laalugé, both from Dhoodigan, Fuvahmulah, were arrested on October 27, 2026, under a court order.
Police said the arrests were made as part of an ongoing operation launched in Fuvahmulah on October 27. During searches of locations believed to be connected to the suspects, officers discovered 181 grams of substances suspected to be drugs.
Both men were presented before court for a decision on their detention. The court ordered that they be remanded in custody for 15 days each.
Police are continuing to investigate the case.
