Registration has officially opened for the “Kobaa Nanah Vaan Koffi?” Ooredoo Mas Race 2026, with this year’s competition set to take place on 7 August in K. Maafushi.
The annual fishing competition is organised by Ooredoo Maldives in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources.
Teams have until 11:59 p.m. on 21 July to register. Each team must consist of 12 members, and registration can be completed online.
A maximum of 20 teams will compete in this year’s event. If registrations exceed that number, priority will be given to the first 20 teams that successfully complete registration and payment.
The tournament carries a total prize pool of MVR 43,000. The winning team will receive MVR 25,000, while the runners-up will be awarded MVR 10,000 and MVR 5,000, respectively.
Individual awards of MVR 1,000 will also be presented to the Best Male Angler, Best Female Angler, and the participant who lands the Heaviest Catch.
Ooredoo said the Mas Race has grown beyond a fishing competition, becoming a community event that celebrates the Maldives’ fishing heritage while strengthening teamwork and community spirit.
Government institutions, private companies and members of the public are all encouraged to participate.
Registration for the “Kobaa Nanah Vaan Koffi?” Ooredoo Mas Race 2026 is available through Ooredoo’s online registration portal.
