The Ministry of Finance has announced that salaries and allowances for government employees for the month of May will be released on May 28 and May 31, taking into account the long Eid al-Adha holiday period and the operating schedule of banks during the break.
Government offices are currently closed for the Eid holidays, which began on May 24. Official work is scheduled to resume on May 31, the final day of the month.
According to the Finance Ministry, banks will only be open on Thursday, May 28, during the extended holiday period to provide essential financial services. As a result, arrangements have been made to process salary deposits across the two available working days.
An official from the ministry stated that the salary payment schedule has been arranged in accordance with the state financial regulations. Under these regulations, salaries for each calendar month must be paid to employees within the first three working days that are not public holidays following the end of that month.
The ministry assured that salaries will be deposited on the days when banks and government offices are operational, in line with the established procedures.
The decision comes as thousands of public sector employees prepare for the Eid holidays, with the government aiming to ensure financial transactions can continue smoothly despite the extended closure period.
