Police Summon and Advise Repeat Reckless Driver

Maldives Police have summoned and cautioned a 22-year-old Maldivian man for repeatedly driving recklessly and endangering public safety on the roads.

The man is the first to be summoned for police counselling under a new initiative targeting individuals who repeatedly engage in dangerous driving that threatens public safety and causes fear among road users.

According to police records, his offences include performing stunts on public roads, speeding while weaving through traffic, driving against one-way traffic and using a mobile phone while driving. He was also found driving a vehicle with an expired annual fee and continuing to drive despite having his licence confiscated.

Maldives Police said the initiative aims to identify repeat offenders and summon them for counselling as part of broader efforts to improve road safety and protect the public.
