Developed by Waavu Enterprises Pvt Ltd, GoScore is the first locally built platform of its kind, allowing football fans to predict match results, compete against friends and colleagues, and participate in leaderboard-based competitions. The application is currently available on the Google Play Store, while an iOS version is expected to be released before the World Cup begins.
Through GoScore, users can predict match scores and earn points based on the accuracy of their predictions. The platform also offers live leaderboards and various league formats designed to enhance engagement among football supporters.
According to Waavu Enterprises Managing Director Mohamed Zihaan, the primary goal of the platform is to strengthen community connections through football while providing fans with a more interactive and competitive viewing experience.
With global attention already turning towards the FIFA World Cup set to be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, GoScore aims to give Maldivian football fans a dedicated platform to test their football knowledge and prediction skills.
Points System
Users earn points based on the accuracy of their predictions:
- 20 points for predicting the exact final score.
- 15 points for correctly predicting the winning team.
- 10 points for correctly predicting a draw, even if the scoreline is incorrect.
- An additional 2 points for each team’s goal tally predicted correctly.
League Options
One of GoScore’s standout features is its league creation system, allowing users to create both public and private competitions.
Public Leagues can be created for MVR 949 and are open to all users of the platform.
Private Leagues include:
- Pro League (unlimited participants) – MVR 499
- Mini League (up to 50 participants) – MVR 199
Additionally, family and friends leagues supporting up to 18 participants can be created free of charge.
The platform is expected to be particularly useful for offices, schools, clubs, and community groups seeking to create friendly competitions and increase engagement around football events.
Although initially launched for the FIFA World Cup, GoScore is expected to expand in the future to include local competitions such as Club Maldives and the Golden Futsal Challenge, as well as international tournaments including the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
The platform also offers advertising opportunities for businesses, allowing companies to promote products and services directly to a football-focused audience.
GoScore can be accessed through its website, while Android users can already download the application. The iOS version is expected to be released before the start of the tournament.
