MNDF Fire and Rescue records 24 incidents last week

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service recorded 24 incidents during the week from September 27 to October 3, 2026.

Fire incidents were the most common, with 10 cases recorded during the week. The service also responded to six hazardous materials (Hazmat) incidents, four medical evacuations, three rescue incidents and one alarm-related incident.

No disaster Incidents were recorded during the week.

All 24 incidents were recorded under the Malé Area Command, with no incidents reported in any other Area Command.

This week recorded slightly more incidents than the previous week. The most notable increase was in fire incidents, which rose from three to 10, while Hazmat incidents increased from two to six. Medical evacuations, meanwhile, were slightly lower.
