The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service recorded 20 incidents across the Maldives during the week from September 20 to 26th.
Medical evacuations accounted for the largest share of incidents, with six cases recorded during the reporting period. The service also responded to three fire incidents and two hazardous materials (Hazmat) incidents.
The weekly report further recorded one disaster incident, one rescue incident and one incident classified under “Other.” No alarm-related incidents were recorded during the week.
Most of the incidents were concentrated in the Malé Area Command, which recorded 19 of the 20 incidents reported nationwide. The Southern Area Command recorded one incident.
Overall, medical evacuations accounted for nearly one-third of the Fire and Rescue Service’s reported activity during the week, while fire and Hazmat responses together accounted for five incidents.
