More than 500 tenants in the Aman Udhares and Aman Dhoadhi social housing towers are failing to pay their monthly rent on time, according to data released by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC).

While 3,362 housing units are up to date on their monthly payments under their tenancy agreements, 564 units have fallen behind. FDC has urged delinquent residents to settle their balances promptly, emphasizing that timely payments are essential to keeping social housing programs sustainable and affordable over the long term.

Alongside rent recovery efforts, FDC is actively investigating dozens of tenant violations and community complaints. As of September 21, the corporation had logged 49 active cases across the properties.

Unapproved structural modifications to apartments represent the most frequent infraction, with 28 reported cases—five of which have already resulted in fines. FDC is also probing 16 instances of unauthorized subletting; five owners have been fined, two have received formal notices, and nine cases remain open.

Other reported violations include:

  • Illegal Waste Disposal: 3 cases (2 fines issued)
  • Failure to Comply with Formal Notices: 2 cases (currently under investigation)
  • Noise Complaints: 2 cases (investigated)

FDC reiterated its commitment to enforcing building and housing regulations to maintain a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for all residents, noting that community cooperation is vital to maintaining the housing project’s success.
