Maldivian First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has visited Pakistan’s National Institute of Health (NIH) and Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s state visit to the country.
The Maldives and Pakistan have agreed to strengthen cooperation in healthcare, including the recruitment of health professionals, medical training and collaboration between the two countries’ medicines regulatory authorities.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed says strong health systems are essential for education, social progress and economic resilience, while highlighting the importance of innovation, compassion and women’s leadership in healthcare.
The Maldives has been listed among the South Asian countries experiencing the highest spread of measles this year, following a resurgence of the disease after nearly a decade without local transmission.
