President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will undertake a State Visit to Pakistan from October 20 to 22 at the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the visit, Muizzu is scheduled to meet Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Sharif and other senior government officials. He will also hold official talks with Sharif aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the Maldives and Pakistan.
Several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) covering various areas of cooperation are expected to be exchanged in the presence of the two leaders following the talks.
The visit marks the first high-level visit between the two countries in a decade and comes as the Maldives and Pakistan mark 60 years of diplomatic relations, established on July 26, 1966.
Muizzu will be accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, Cabinet ministers and senior government officials.
