MNDF Fire and Rescue records 19 incidents last week

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service recorded 19 incidents during the week from October 4 to 10, 2026.

Hazardous materials (Hazmat) incidents were the most common, with six cases recorded during the week. The service also responded to five fire incidents, three rescue incidents, three medical evacuations and two disaster incidents.

No alarm-related or other incidents were recorded during the week.

All 19 incidents were recorded under the Malé Area Command, with no incidents reported in any of the other Area Commands.

This is slightly fewer incidents than the previous week. Fire incidents fell from 10 to five, while Hazmat incidents remained unchanged at six. Medical evacuations also decreased slightly compared to the previous week.
