Jordan’s military says its air defence systems intercepted and shot down five missiles launched from Iran that were heading towards the Al-Azraq area in Zarqa province.
According to the Jordanian Armed Forces, the missiles were destroyed in midair, with falling debris causing no casualties or property damage.
Military engineering teams have been deployed to secure the missile remnants and clear any unexploded ordnance, the military said.
Jordan added that its armed forces remain at the highest level of readiness and stressed that the country will not tolerate any violations of its airspace.
The announcement comes amid escalating regional tensions following recent military exchanges involving Iran and the United States.
