India Requires Self-Declaration Form for All Travelers

All Travelers, Including Maldivians, Must Now Submit a Self-Declaration Form Before Traveling to India.

India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced that all travelers, including Maldivians, must submit a Self-Declaration Form (SDF) before traveling to India.

Following this measure, the national airline, Maldivian, has requested Maldivian travelers to complete the SDF before their journey, in line with the Indian government’s directive.

According to a statement issued by Maldivian, India introduced this measure after the Ebola outbreak was declared by the World Health Organization as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.

Therefore, Maldivian travelers are being asked to complete the form before departure. Maldivian has also shared the QR code needed to access and fill out the form.

In addition, after arriving in India, travelers must present the completed form at India’s Health and Immigration counters, according to Maldivian.

The purpose of this measure is to identify potentially infected individuals early, gather passenger information, and strengthen disease monitoring systems at airports. As a result, all travelers to India are required to complete the form.

The WHO has declared Ebola a serious international public health concern.

To prevent the spread of Ebola, India has strengthened screening and surveillance at airports and other entry points into the country.

The Indian government has also advised its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan.

India is a country where many Maldivians live for work and education, and also frequently travel to for holidays and medical treatment.

Ebola is a dangerous disease caused by a virus. It spreads through the blood and other bodily fluids of an infected person. Symptoms include fever, severe weakness, and muscle pain. It can also cause chest pain, headaches, and other complications.
