Maldives Islamic Bank has approved a dividend payout of MVR 5.41 per ordinary share during its 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was held online on Monday.
The virtual AGM was conducted through the Fahivote digital meeting platform developed by the Maldives Securities Depository. According to the bank, 57 shareholders and proxy holders participated in the meeting, representing 19.1 million shares — equivalent to nearly 80 percent of the bank’s issued shares.
During the meeting, shareholders unanimously approved the Directors’ Report and the audited financial statements for the financial year ending December 31, 2025. The board’s proposal to distribute a total dividend of more than MVR 129.6 million also received overwhelming support from shareholders.
Shareholders additionally endorsed the appointment of Ernst & Young as the bank’s external auditor for 2026.
MIB also highlighted a major financial milestone achieved in 2025, noting that the bank’s total assets surpassed USD 1 billion for the first time in its history.
