Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has awarded MTCC a contract worth MVR 18.8 million to construct a 100-metre quay and install concrete pavement at Thilafushi.
The agreement was signed on Monday by MPL CEO Hussain Shafeeu and MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudi during a ceremony held at MPL.
Under the project, MTCC will carry out basin dredging, install 112 metres of sheet piling, place 30-ton bollards, and complete concrete paving works. The project is scheduled for completion within 120 days.
According to MTCC, the new facility will enhance MPL’s operations in Thilafushi and improve the efficiency and quality of services provided at the industrial island.
