President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed his condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following a fatal bus accident in western Türkiye that claimed multiple lives and left several others injured.
In a message addressed to President Erdoğan, President Muizzu expressed sorrow over the tragedy, which involved a passenger bus that crashed and subsequently caught fire. The incident resulted in the deaths of eight people and caused injuries to many others.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, the President extended sympathies to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and citizens of Türkiye during this difficult time.
President Muizzu said the thoughts and prayers of the Maldivian people are with those affected by the tragedy and wished strength and patience to the bereaved families.
He also expressed hopes for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in the accident.
