Dhiraagu Wins “Telco of the Year – Small Markets” Award

Dhiraagu has been named “Telco of the Year – Small Markets” at the prestigious Twimbit Telecom Awards 2026, marking another major international achievement for the Maldives’ leading telecommunications provider.

The award recognizes Dhiraagu’s continued leadership in digital innovation and its commitment to delivering high-quality telecommunications services across the country. According to the company, the recognition highlights the significant progress it has made in advancing digital connectivity and enhancing customer experiences nationwide.

Dhiraagu noted that the award was secured amid strong competition from telecommunications providers serving emerging small-market economies across Asia, underscoring the company’s growing reputation within the regional telecom industry.

Commenting on the achievement, Dhiraagu CEO and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed described the award as a reflection of the trust customers place in the company and the dedication shown by its employees in driving innovation and service excellence.

He highlighted that over the past year, Dhiraagu reached a major milestone by completing fibre broadband coverage across all inhabited islands of the Maldives. This, he said, has enabled communities nationwide to access high-speed connectivity and a wide range of digital services through a robust telecommunications network.

Rasheed added that the award serves as both a recognition of the company’s accomplishments and a motivation to continue investing in technologies that support the Maldives’ digital transformation.

The Twimbit Telecom Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in the telecommunications and technology sectors across Asia, recognising organisations that demonstrate excellence in innovation, customer experience, financial performance, and digital advancement.

Dhiraagu continues to play a key role in supporting the Maldives’ social and economic development through strategic investments in digital infrastructure and its vision of building a fully connected “Digital Maldives.”
