Maldives Finance Minister Hassan Zareer has held talks with Qatar’s Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari in Doha on strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The meeting was held during Zareer’s ongoing official visit to Qatar and focused on opportunities to expand economic cooperation, including private sector development and increased investment between the Maldives and Qatar.
The ministers also discussed new areas for economic collaboration and ways to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest to support sustainable economic growth and development in both countries.
Qatar has maintained longstanding ties with the Maldives and has been a partner in the country’s development. The meeting comes as President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s administration places emphasis on strengthening economic and trade relations with friendly countries and creating a more conducive environment for foreign investment in the Maldives.
