Iran Claims New Strikes on US Bases: Regional Situation Update

Iran has claimed a new wave of retaliatory attacks against US military positions across the Middle East, while Qatar condemned Iranian strikes on Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region and renewed calls for de-escalation.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted a US military base in Kuwait, the US airbase in Qatar, US maritime surveillance radars in Oman, US helicopters and reconnaissance aircraft at an airbase in Bahrain, US fighter jets stationed in Jordan, and a US special operations command centre at the al-Tanf military base in Syria.

The claims come as Iran continues its expanding campaign of retaliatory operations following days of US strikes on Iranian territory. There was no immediate confirmation from US authorities regarding the claimed attacks.

In Qatar, the Interior Ministry said a child was injured by falling shrapnel after the country’s air defence systems intercepted several Iranian aerial attacks. The child was receiving medical treatment, while no other casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency released figures claiming that eight vessels had transited the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours, amid continued fighting around one of the world’s most strategically important shipping routes.

Separately, Qatar strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region.

In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attacks as “a blatant violation” of the region’s sovereignty and “a flagrant breach of international law.”

The ministry called for an end to the escalation, urging all parties to pursue dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further instability and protect regional and international security.

The latest developments come as both Iran and the United States continue military operations across the region, with expectations that Washington could launch another round of strikes later tonight, marking the seventh consecutive night of US attacks on Iran.
