Iran Vows Strong Response to US Strikes

Iran has warned that it will respond forcefully to the US attacks, describing them as a serious escalation.

The United States said the strikes were retaliation for Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM maintained that the operation was intended to degrade Iran’s military capabilities in the region.

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters condemned the attacks as a major act of aggression. The military command also said the strikes were carried out while memorial and funeral ceremonies for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were taking place, calling the operation a “hostile assault.”

In a statement, Iran’s armed forces warned that the United States would face a “very powerful response” for its actions.

Iran also warned that it would not allow any additional foreign military presence or escalation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Within hours of the first US strikes, air raid sirens were activated in Kuwait and Bahrain. Kuwaiti authorities said the country’s air defence forces were monitoring the situation and taking measures to intercept any potential aerial threats.
