Ooredoo Maldives has announced that customers using its newly introduced PayPal withdrawal service through the m-Faisaa wallet will not be charged any additional fees by the company when transferring funds from PayPal.
The clarification follows questions from customers regarding the costs associated with receiving money from overseas through the service. Ooredoo said users will only be required to pay PayPal’s standard transaction fee, while no extra withdrawal or transfer fee will be imposed by Ooredoo for moving funds into an m-Faisaa wallet.
According to the company, PayPal currently charges a fixed fee of USD 1.50 plus 2 percent of the transaction amount. For example, a transfer of USD 100 would incur a PayPal fee of USD 3.50. Ooredoo emphasized that it does not add any further charges on top of this amount.
The company noted that greater transparency regarding fees will help freelancers, entrepreneurs and online service providers better estimate their earnings when receiving international payments.
Ooredoo described the PayPal integration as an important step toward enabling Maldivians to participate more actively in the global digital economy. The company added that eliminating additional transfer charges is intended to reduce barriers faced by individuals and businesses earning income from international markets.
The PayPal-to-m-Faisaa service allows users in the Maldives to receive funds from abroad directly into their mobile wallet, providing a more accessible option for online workers and digital entrepreneurs.
