Applications Open for Prestigious Higher Education Scholarships in the UK and India

The Ministry of Education has officially invited Maldivian students to apply for international scholarship opportunities in the United Kingdom and India, opening new avenues for advanced post-graduate study abroad. The newly announced offerings include Master’s degree slots under the UK’s Commonwealth Scholarship Program alongside specialized agricultural research fellowships offered through India’s Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Under the Commonwealth Scholarships in the United Kingdom 2027–2028 Program, eligible Maldivians can compete for three fully funded Master’s degree opportunities. To qualify, candidates must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree and select a program higher than their current qualification level. Additionally, applicants must not be enrolled in an equivalent course at state expense, and those with existing government student loans must be actively repaying them without any defaults. Interested individuals must complete their submissions through either the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission portal or the Education Ministry’s official Kuri portal before 1:30 PM on October 8, 2026.

Concurrently, applications are open for the Netaji Subhas-ICAR International Fellowship 2026 in India, aimed at scholars seeking advanced qualifications in agricultural sciences. Candidates interested in the Indian fellowship must email their application materials directly to: adg.hrd.applications@gmail.com by September 25, 2026. Complete details, guidelines, and prerequisite information for both scholarship tracks remain accessible on the official ICAR website as well as the Kuri portal.
