Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran includes the “immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”
In a statement posted on X, Sharif said both sides had agreed to halt hostilities as part of a broader effort to reduce tensions across the region.
He added that the official signing ceremony for the agreement will take place in Switzerland on June 19.
Sharif thanked the United States and Iran for their commitment to the process and expressed appreciation to Qatar for its support in helping secure the agreement.
He also praised the roles played by Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, saying their leadership made “immense contributions” toward reaching the deal.
According to Sharif, a series of meetings will be held in the coming days to establish the framework for technical discussions ahead of the formal signing ceremony.
If implemented, the agreement would mark a significant diplomatic breakthrough and could bring an end to months of escalating tensions and conflict across the region.
